After Week 5 of INTRICT

We only had one INTRICT meeting (June 25, 2008) for this week.

Basically... our meeting was for the reporting for the interviews we had with the tactical and the operational managers of a particular company. In my case, I, together with my groupmates, Karla and Christine B., conducted the interview at BPI Card Center, Makati City. There, we interviewed Reggie Vallente (the tactical manager) and George Pangan (the operational manager). It was fun since the managers were humurous and warm to us, but also, it was a bit "scary" (?) since we were somehow shy and quite nervous with how to conduct the interview (HAHA!). Well, moving on...

In this entry, I'll be stressing out some points in how to prepare for this kind of reporting. And so... when preparing for reports similar to these, one should remember to:
  • Specify the plans of each manager
  • Know and understand what each manager does exactly (e.g. timeframe of work, areas of concentration)
  • Know the business functions that each manager covers up
  • Know what each manager handles in his/her work
  • Inquire about the structure of the company (e.g. ask for the organizational chart of the company) and about the different functional units (e.g. know who's covering or handling a particular work or task)

Lastly, Sir Oli gave out reminders on how to conduct the reporting. And here are those reminders:

  • Make a simple introduction
  • The presentation should not be wordy/heavy
  • Don't read the presentation (it's alright to read, but only to be "guided" in delivering the report and NOT just reading the presentation literally)
  • Distribute information equally (all members should know the entire content of the report and must share information with each other, walang nag-sosolo o isa lang nagsasalita)
  • Link with lectures and lessons
  • Expand the presentation by providing extra information or examples to the listeners that are not found on the presentation

There you go.

Yes, it's only a one-meeting week for INTRICT week 5, but it sure is a really serious one... These lessons should be put into mind. ALWAYS.

And oh yeah... in presentations like these, questions will be asked. And these questions are not simple questions, in fact they are really complex. So complex that they can make the human mind bleed, HAHAHA. Thus, make sure to be really ready and understand the report to be presented. Ayt?

CHILL OUT for awhile. God bless. :)
